Oops
Today hasn’t gotten off to the best start.
I woke up at 9:30 with a headache that soon turned into a full-blown migraine. If it doesn’t go away soon I might cry. I have to get all dressed up and drive to Cape Breton in a couple of hours.
I almost forgot to call in to work. Like seriously. We’re technically supposed to give them two hours’ notice but for an open shift that’s kind of hard. So I was sitting here trying to fight headaches at 9:35 and said “HOSHIT I have to call in to work!”
No-call-no-show is a million times worse than calling in sick, in case you didn’t know. LOL.
So I grabbed my phone and sounded as pathetic (and as matter of fact) as I could when telling Chris I wouldn’t be making it in today. Then I emailed Mark to remind him to put today down as my personal day and told him I’d see him this afternoon.
Yes, I’m playing hookey from work for a social event that my TM is going to as well. Today is the day of Trina and Shaun’s wedding, and Mark is their best man for some reason. I didn’t think a best man could be married, but oh well. Whatever. Alex and I were invited, so we’re going even though Alex doesn’t want to. I told him last night that we have to at least make something of an appearance at the reception but we don’t have to stay for the whole thing. We do both open tomorrow after all.
Do I really want to go? With a migraine, no. But to show off my new dress and shoes…and to support Trina, who I consider to be a pretty good friend, yes.
So once I got my call and email out of the way I cleared off the kitchen table and wrapped the present we got for the happy couple (a slow cooker). Which I almost forgot to get. Yes my memory is that bad…I almost forgot that we needed to get them a frickin’ wedding gift. Oy. Thank god for my mother yesterday.
“Did you get them a present?”
“o.O. Shit.”
Yeah. That was bad. But at least it was yesterday and not this morning. Because that would have been REALLY bad. *noddle*
I’m going to go grab something to eat and get dressed. Not wedding dressed yet, just normal dressed. I don’t want to get into the fancy clothes until it’s closer to time to leave, which is at 12:30.
I need to find out which church it’s going to be at…
