Well here I am

When LiveJournal decided to be a pain in the ass and ban me for things that I had nothing to do with (anybody remember the time when the guy hacked into my old Gambit account there and deleted it before my eyes? Yeah I’m pretty sure this has to do with him.) I decided it was time to move on to bigger and better things.

So I followed my Kiddo to here. WordPress. It’s going to take time to get used to it, but I’ll manage.

I’ve heard from LJ once. This is what they told me:

“Thank you for contacting us. Your account has been tied to another LiveJournal account that was used to compromise other users accounts. As this is a gross violation of LiveJournal’s Terms of Service, the original account and all accounts found to be associated with it were suspended and use of the LiveJournal service was terminated. An email was sent to the primary account explaining this on May 2nd, 2008.

We use several unique and account specific indicators to show association, including email addresses. Your accounts email, among other things, had been used as a current email on the compromised accounts. Because of this, your accounts have been suspended and you are not welcome on the LiveJournal service. Any further accounts found will be suspended without notice.”

This is what makes me think it has to do with the guy who took over my gambit journal. Just because my email address was associated with that account at one time…I get banned. WTF? I wrote them back explaining what happened in that case (and pointing out that they did NOTHING to help me) and said I’d accept their decision without a fuss…and asking for the cost of the permanent account to be credited back to me. I am mad at them, but life’s too short to dwell on shit.

I am officially done with LJ, regardless. They are not worth the energy, at all. I’m just waiting for them to reply to my last message.

So I have this new blog here and will be posting here from now on. I have it set so anybody can comment even if they don’t have a WordPress account, and I’m hoping I can get word out that my blog is now here so my old LJ friends can keep up with me (and keep me up to date on their lives through comments here since I won’t be able to read any friends-only posts on LJ…I will be accessing LJ from work to check on non-friends-only posts though).

    Hey, sucks about Livejournal… they’re assholes anyway. Did they credit back the money for your permanent account?

    It makes sense. I’ve long thought of abandoning LJ for here, but am still undecided, as I’ve always liked them and I’ve never had to fuss with them but once. Good luck to you, Quinn.

    I am sorry to hear about the mess LJ has made over your account. I will make an LJ RSS feed to read your blog on my friends page. I have a word press account too.

    Yes there is. Robin made one. I’ll get the link and blog it for anybody who wants to use it. But what sucks is I can’t read any LJ entries!
