Is it Monday yet?

May 23, 2008 at 9:19 am (life) ()

Well, I’ve got an appointment on Monday morning at 9 a.m. (oy vey) to go to the Toyota dealership in Port Hawkesbury and get my new car. This pleases me, as I’ll have my new car to go to the bowling tournament and then to New Glasgow for pizza and Indiana Jones. But I still wish I could have gotten the car right away. LOL.

*worries*

May 21, 2008 at 10:13 am (life) (, )

I know I shouldn’t be worried, because the car is spotless and like brand new and the guy is getting an AMAZING deal. But he hasn’t seen the car and I’m worried that he won’t want to buy it once he sees it and drives it.

He’d be crazy to change his mind. Totally and absolutely crazy. But I hadn’t even considered the possibility until Dad mentioned it last night. Now I can’t stop thinking about it. Although quite frankly, he’s coming all the way from Bridgewater. If he wasn’t 100% planning on buying the car, or even 95% planning on it, he wouldn’t have bothered to make the trip.

I need to stop worrying. I’ll just be glad when he’s here and we’re heading to Hawkesbury to get this done. Because once we’re there, there’s no going back for this guy.

Well…

May 20, 2008 at 12:23 pm (life) (, )

Today is my Saturday, so I’m trying to get stuff done. And it’s a good thing it’s really Tuesday because banks aren’t open on Saturdays and I need to go to the bank, ha ha.

This is what I need to do (for my own reference):

-Take money out at the bank and get a void check just in case I need it tomorrow for the new lease
-Get my prescription filled at the drug store
-Go to the mall and look at that damned car again (they have a corolla there the exact color I want and I’ve been drooling over it for days now)
-Go to the grocery store and pick up a few things
-Go to the insurance company and talk to Janet about the fact that I’m getting a new car

I’m going to take Dad’s truck I think, because he totally cleaned the inside of the car this morning and it stinks from the cleaner and the mats are wet. Besides, I don’t drive the truck very often and it’d be something different.

I’m currently making a grocery list. Not much is coming to mind easily, but whatever.

Mom’s upstairs making low fat oatmeal raisin cookies. I asked if she could make some without raisins (I hate raisins) but she won’t because she doesn’t think I’d like the plain oatmeal recipe. I think she’s crazy because I know I’ll be able to smell it cooking and want it. Guh. Maybe I’ll get stuff to make my own damned cookies.

I think that’s it for now. I want to get my errands out of the way, so I’m going to head out I think.

ZOMG YAY!

May 19, 2008 at 5:21 pm (life) ()

So LJ has reinstated my LJ and given me access back. I’ll double check when I get home from work to make sure I can access LJ from there, but I’ve already posted an “I’M BACK” entry on the kawanee journal. I will give all the details when I get home, including what LJ said to me in their most recent email..

I think I’m going to keep this blog and crosspost to LJ from it. But if I really can access LJ and kawanee from home, I will be deleting the quinnlogan journal because I don’t need it anymore.

EDIT: Yep, LJ is reinstated here at home and life is good again. Thank you all for your continued support. I’ll continue to post here, but will mostly crosspost what I write here to LJ and vice versa, so if you don’t want to get my entries twice, deleting the RSS feed to this blog might be a good idea. If I do write something here that I don’t write in LJ, I’ll post a link for you instead.

Ugh

May 18, 2008 at 9:27 am (life) (, , , )

I didn’t sleep well last night. I was too hot, which didn’t make any sense, and couldn’t stop thinking about the whole car thing, which does make sense.

I honestly don’t understand how this is supposed to work, but as long as my dad does and the buyer does and especially as long as the Toyota people do, then I’m just going to go with it and pray they do it correctly.

The lease is up. The buyout for the car is $7400. Buyer dude is buying it for $11000. I assume this means that $7400 of that gets him my car and the rest of it goes towards me getting a new car, because that’s what’s supposed to happen, but how exactly do they do that? Surely to god he doesn’t show up with $11000 in cash in his pocket. It would make more sense for him to write a cheque or something. But if he writes a cheque, how does it work? Do they take it to the bank immediately while we’re there and cash it to divide it up, or what? I’m so confused. And this is what I was unable to stop thinking about between 2 and 3 a.m. this morning while I was dying of being too hot.

Because I didn’t sleep well, I woke up around 6 this morning with a bad migraine, which went away and then came back awhile later. So my head is killing me and I’d really rather just stay home and sleep instead of going to work. If it’s busy like it was yesterday I might cry. There is no fracking need of it being so damned busy.

I get off work at 6:30. When Alex gets home around 8:30, I’m going over to his place. He downloaded Thursday’s episode of CSI for me last night and I want to watch it this evening. Give us a bit of a break from BSG.

*looks at clock* Blah. Gotta go to work. I don’t want to. I really don’t want to.

YAY

May 17, 2008 at 12:39 pm (life) (, )

My car has been sold for $11,000! Everything takes place on Wednesday at 1 p.m. I am so excited it’s unreal. And the Toyota place will loan me a car if they don’t have one that I want, until they can get one in that I want.

Bad thing is, I can’t get a blue one. So it’ll either be red, silver or gray. Not going with black or white because…well…ugh.

If you ever want to sell anything, USE KIJIJI!

Happiness is…

May 16, 2008 at 12:34 am (life) (, , )

…Spending an entire day snuggled up in bed with the love of your life finishing the first season of Battlestar Galactica and stuffing your faces with lasagne and garlic bread for supper.

Other things add to the happiness, but you don’t need to hear about those, do you? Didn’t think so.

I had a good day. A very good day. Sure my laundry didn’t get done, but so what? I’ll get it done. Eventually.

To add to the good day, A&E has officially announced that Dog the Bounty Hunter will be back on the air in reruns starting on June 25, with new shows (including never-aired episodes from last season as well as the episodes they’re currently taping for season five) starting on July 16.

There are going to be a lot of partying fans when those days come around. This nonsense has gone on way too long. Much longer than it needed to.

I’m going to bed. I have to work tomorrow. If the weather’s decent, I’ll probably be hauling Alex out for a walk tomorrow evening but otherwise I should be around. I do, after all, need to do laundry. LOL.

Day Off

May 14, 2008 at 10:13 am (life) (, , , )

I’m off today. I’m also off tomorrow. This technically means that I’m now at the start of my weekend.

And because Alex is busy and working today but off tomorrow…I’m going to be smart.

Today I’m going to run my errands and do my laundry, so tomorrow I can go to his house and be lazy all day without having to worry about the fact that “Dammit I have things to do!”

I just wish that it wasn’t so fracking cold outside. I mean seriously. It’s May 14 for crying out loud (HAPPY BIRTHDAY SHEA!!!) and it’s 4 degrees out (with a windchill of 0). For those of you in the US…that’s a temp of 39 that feels like 32. And in the middle of May, that’s just unacceptable, but there’s not a whole lot we can do about it.

Going to Hawaii would be nice right about now.

Stuff

May 12, 2008 at 12:39 pm (life) (, , , , )

I’m at work and really kind of wishing I was back in bed instead. I’m supposed to be off tomorrow, but I switched shifts with Mike P. which means I’m off Wednesday and Thursday instead of Tuesday and Wednesday. This works okay for me because Alex is off Thursday so we’ll have a day together (we would normally have that on Wednesday but he switched with Mike himself, LOL).

For anybody looking for something they haven’t read before, if you like Stephen King, you should check out The Talisman. I’m over half-way through it and absolutely LOVE it. It is superb storytelling and I’m thoroughly enjoying it. I’ll be getting the sequel to it, Black House once I’m done.

I wonder how long it’s going to take for those new Werther’s chocolates to get here. I saw a commercial for them last night while watching Survivor and I absolutely must have them. They look awesome.

Speaking of Survivor… did anybody watch the finale last night? I knew Parv was going to win when it came down to her and Amanda, although I was really hoping it would be Amanda. Of course if Jen and I had our way from our commentary during the show, Cirie would have been the winner, ha ha. We were both rooting for her. I’m thrilled that Amanda and Ozzy found love, though. So cute! I hope it lasts for them, I think they deserve to be happy.

Don’t have a lot else to say at the moment. More later when I’m not at work.

LJ

May 11, 2008 at 12:20 pm (life) ()

Holli had an idea for me to create a new LJ not to write in but to use to keep tabs on my friends on LJ. I thought it was a good idea…and of course can’t remember everybody’s LJ usernames.

The LJ I will be using while at work to keep tabs on all of my lovely friends on LJ has the username quinnlogan. Please add it with your LJ so I can add you back and keep up with things.

I will not be using that journal to write. I will only be using it to read my friends list.
